NVIDIA and Japan launch the world’s first national AI infrastructure built for physical AI

Category: AI Infrastructure • Physical AI

What it is

NVIDIA is partnering with Noetra Corp. to build a Vera Rubin AI factory with 13,750
Vera CPUs and 27,500 Rubin GPUs, delivering 140 megawatts of data center
capacity. Backed by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, it will power
the FRONTia Project, developing open multimodal foundation models for
manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and robotics. Japan’s AI Robotics Strategy
targets over 30% of the global AI robotics market, an estimated $133 billion
opportunity, by 2040.

Why it Matters for Enterprises

National-scale AI investment is moving from cloud-only models to sovereign,
industry-specific factories. Enterprises operating in or partnering with Japanese
manufacturers should watch FRONTia's open foundation models for early
integration opportunities.
