Anthropic launches Claude Opus 4.8 sharper judgement, dynamic workflows & cheaper fast mode

Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.8 on May 28, improving on 4.7 across coding,
agentic reasoning, and honesty benchmarks. Key additions: Dynamic Workflows in
Claude Code lets a single session spawn hundreds of parallel subagents for
codebase-scale tasks; effort control lets users dial how deeply Claude thinks; and
fast mode is now 3× cheaper than before, running at 2.5× speed. Early testers
including Cursor, Devin, and Databricks – report meaningfully better tool-calling
reliability and lower hallucination rates.

Opus 4.8 makes long-running agentic workflows more reliable and cost-efficient.
Dynamic Workflows alone unlocks codebase-wide migrations and deep research
tasks that previously required manual orchestration - a direct productivity multiplier
for engineering and knowledge-work teams.
