OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work, an AI co-worker that pulls context from
connected apps – Google Drive, Slack, Outlook, SharePoint – to create
presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and analyses without switching tools. It
rolled out alongside GPT-5.6, OpenAI’s newest model family, positioned as faster
and cheaper than rivals. The launch directly answers Anthropic’s Claude Cowork,
which plans and executes multi-step tasks autonomously. OpenAI says GPT-5.6’s
smaller versions match larger-model performance at a fraction of the cost.
