What it is
Meta’s Muse personal agent, launched September 8, is going after the subscription economy. Consumers who gave it access to bank and credit card statements found it a strong budgeting coach and cancelled unneeded subscriptions, CNBC reports. Recurly data shows 43% of consumers are comfortable with AI managing subscriptions. Amazon has blocked Muse from shopping on its site, citing its terms of service, and privacy concerns remain over giving an AI access to financial data. CNBC says the effect could reach core financial services.
Why it Matters for Enterprises
Personal agents that read financial data can erode recurring revenue and reshape customer decisions. Businesses should review agent access terms, retain customers through value rather than friction, and plan for agent-driven cancellation and shopping as a channel.
