Google launches Gemini 3.7 Flash, its new coding and agent workhorse, at half the price of 3.6 Flash

Category: Foundation Models • Model Launch

What it is

Google shipped Gemini 3.7 Flash on Aug 13, just three weeks after 3.6 Flash, calling it a direct result of developer feedback and algorithmic innovation rather than a bigger model. It posts large coding gains – DeepSWE jumps from 49.0% to 65.3% and FrontierCode 1.1 Main from 34.4% to 43.6% – plus stronger web-app generation and steadier multi-step tool use. Introductory pricing is $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through end of 2026, half of 3.6 Flash’s launch price, rising to $1.50/$7.50 from January 2027.

Why it Matters for Enterprises

A cheaper, stronger workhorse model lowers the cost floor for high-volume coding and agent workloads. Teams should benchmark 3.7 Flash now, but budget for the price step-up once the introductory rate expires in 2027.
